The 2014 Gibson SG Standard '61 was a limited-run Guitar Center exclusive model created for players who wanted vintage 1961 styling mixed with modern player modifications. While most regular 2014 models had circuit board electronics and the E-Tune system the Standard '61 had vintage-style Kluson deluxe tuners instead of mechanical robot tuners along with traditional hand wired electronics with push/pull volume pots for coil splitting it's '57 classic humbuckers. Overall in very good condition. The body shows a fair amount of surface marks and some buckle rash on the back side, but otherwise is in good condition. Rear of neck shows a couple minor dings but they don't affect playabillity in any way and otherwise neck is in good shape. Headstock shows some surface marks and wear along the edge but is otherwise in good condition. Fretboard remains clean and frets show only minimal signs of wear with no issues and plenty of life left in them. Hardware is i great overall condition showing only very light wear. Electronics work perfectly and features a Kent Armstrong Handwound Series Humbucker in the neck and a '57 Classic humbucker in the bridge with push pull pots for coil splitting on both the neck and bridge pickups. The Kent Armstrong Handwound series humbucker is a modified replication of the 1960's era pickup installed in Rory Gallagher's 1964 Gibson Melody Maker and formerly endorsed by the Rory Gallagher estate. Kent has added his preferred modifications.Overall n amazing playing SG with tons of tonal versatility with the coil-splittable Handwound Kent Armstrong/'57 classic pickups. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Original case is included but the strap that keeps the lid upright when open is broken, otherwise works great.
