Regular price $3,599.00 USD

Maker: Rickenbacker

Model: 360 BBR

Condition: excellent

Description:

A rare 2008 Rickenbacker "Blue Burst" 360 model that has faded into a very unique looking purple burst on the front, still blue everywhere else. This may have been on display based on the fading and the fact that it seems mostly unplayed with very little signs of use. Nitro finish is starting to show checking lines, and a very small finish chip on the top side of the neck pocket, but  otherwise almost no play wear at all. By far one of the coolest finishes we've seen and an amazing playing guitar! With all the Rickenbacker embellishments including Hi gain single coils, dual truss rods, carved top, gloss fretboard with triangle inlays, Rickenbacker "R" Trapeze style tailpiece, and stereo "rick-o-sound" outputs. We believe this one must have been on display in the sun as the finish has clearly faded from a blue burst to an amazing purple burst on the front of the body but the original blue burst remains on the back and sides. Though we also believe its cause some checking and finish reaction of the clear coat to happen (see photos). Otherwise this Rick is in excellent condition and plays beautifully.  Here's your chance to own a totally unique purple/blue burst 360! Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes original Rickenbacker hard case with original documentation, cleaning rag, and even a set of Rickenbacker strings. See below for a list of specs and info.

From the web:

This guitar broke all the rules of traditional styling when it appeared amid the ‘British’ sound of the 1960’s. Subtly updated through the years, this Deluxe hollow body with its special contour around the entire body perimeter, is still perhaps the most comfortable guitar of all. The bound body and Rosewood fingerboard, inlayed with triangular pearloid markers, provide an exceptionally attractive appearance. Stereo output is standard.

  • Body Construction: Semi-hollow maple body with a carved top and contoured, bound edges. (The 360 design differs from the boxy, unbound Rickenbacker 330).
  • Neck: Three-piece maple/walnut set-neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard.
  • Frets & Inlays: 24 frets (standard for this production era) with distinctive triangular pearloid inlays.
  • Pickups: Two Rickenbacker High-Gain single-coil pickups.
  • Electronics: Standard volume/tone controls, a 3-way selector, and a special "blend" knob to mix the pickups.
  • Outputs: Features "Rick-O-Sound" stereo output, allowing you to split the neck and bridge pickups to two separate amplifiers.
  • Tailpiece & Hardware: Features Rickenbacker's classic "R" tailpiece and chrome hardware
