Maker: Fender
Model: Order Made ST62
Condition: excellent
Description:
A 1993 Fender Order Made Custom Edition ‘62 reissue Stratocaster ST62 in excellent condition made in the famed Fujigen factory during the golden age of the Fender Japan the “Order Made” program, the Japanese version of the Custom Shop which offered non-catalog component and finish options; In this case featuring a shell pink laquer finish, Graphite nut, full size USA CTS pots. Has the Fender Japan "Custom Edition" logo on the rear of the headstock and "Order" stamp in the neck pocket. We don't believe you could order Lindy Fralin pickups from the factory so the currently installed Fralin Blues Specials were probably an owner upgrade. All this combines for a Fender Japan strat that holds it's own with it's USA Custom counterparts. Body is in excellent shape overall but shows some very light general playwear, surface marks, and some minuscule dings, otherwise very clean with a beautiful nitro shell pink finish. Neck is in excellent shape with a nice mellow amber tint. Headstock shows some light wear and dings along the edge but is otherwise excellent. Fretboard is in excellent shape and frets show nearly no wear whatsoever. Hardware shows some age, pitting, and light tarnishing but is perfectly functional. Electronics have been thoroughly cleaned and work great. Features a set of Lindy Fralin Blues Special pickups that sound phenomenal. A killer custom made Strat from the legendary Fujigen factory! Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes gig bag.

The Fender Japan "Order Made" program was essentially a Japanese version of the Custom Shop, offering non-catalog component and finish options exclusively for the Japanese domestic market during the "golden age" of Fender Japan production, primarily from the late 1980s through the mid-1990s.
- Function: The "Order Made" program allowed customers to specify custom features, finishes, and hardware that were not available on standard production models, similar to a custom order process.
- Manufacturing: These guitars were produced by highly skilled craftsmen, primarily at the prestigious Fujigen Gakki factory, known for its precision engineering and high-quality construction, which rivaled US production quality.
- Exclusivity: The program was specifically for the Japanese domestic market, meaning these unique instruments were not typically part of the standard export catalogs for the US or European markets.
- Identification: Instruments from this program are often stamped with "Order Made" in the neck pocket or heel, in addition to the standard "Made in Japan" or "Crafted in Japan" serial number markings.
- Legacy: These "Order Made" instruments are highly regarded by collectors and players today for their exceptional build quality and unique specifications, and are considered desirable collector's items.
