Maker: Fender
Model: TLAC
Condition: Very good
Description:
Here is a somewhat rare bird; the Fender TLAC (telecaster acoustic) Thinline Telecaster, a semi-acoustic Tele that was the original Japanese precursor (and far superior) to the more recent "acoustisonic" models. These were made in small numbers in the early 90s for the Japanese mdomestic market and were not exported to the US so rarely seen here. Features a semi-hollow design with a spruce top on a carved mahogany back. Active Piezo TBX circuit with a Piezo pickup under the rosewood bridge and a USA Lace Sensor Silver in the neck. Comfortable C shaped neck, rosewood fretboard and Gotoh tuners. Although over 3o years old this one remains very clean. Body shows a small ding on the top edge (see photo) and some very minor dings on the top but is otherwise clean with no major damage or blemishes. Neck is in excellent shape and headstock shows only the very lightest signs of wear. Fretboard is excellent and frets show only some very light wear with no issues and tons of life left. Hardware remains in good shape including the bridge and saddle. Electronics have been thoroughly inspected and cleaned and work perfectly. Lots of options tonally with the Lace sensor and piezo pickup and can be blended in any amount with each other with the middle blend knob. Also features the TBX tone control for even more tonal versatility. Overall a super cool Tele that has the feel of an electric Telecaster but could easily be used to get an acoustic type of tone on stage without having to lug around a full sized acoustic guitar. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes gig bag.
