Description:

Here for your consideration is a 1991 Rickenbacker 4003 Bass in very good condition! This one features a Bartonlini Active Preamp/eq giving this 4003 a wide variety of tones on tap. The control cavity has been professionally routed to fit the preamp and the second "Rick-O-Sound" jack has been disconnected. Body shows some general playwear: Finish marks, scratches, dings, buckle rash, finish wear, ect., but is overall in great shape for its age and shows no major damage or issues. Rear of neck shows some surface marks and a couple of very small dings but overall is in great shape with no major damage or blemishes. Headstock shows some surface marks, dings, and what appears to be some finish reaction from hanging on a wall hanger (see photos for details), but is otherwise in great shape. Fretboard is in excellent condition and frets show only minimal wear. Binding shows cracks along the fretboard, and in a few spots along the body. See photos for details. Hardware shows some light age/wear but is in good shape overall. Electronics have been thoroughly inspected and cleaned and work perfectly. Features original pickups and a Bartolini Active preamp/EQ that adds a whole new dimension to this 4003. Could very easily be returned to stock wiring as well if the preamp isn't your thing. Overall This Rick plays amazing, has just the right amount of wear and character, and with the added Bartolini preamp can go well beyond the range of available tones of a run of the mill 4003. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes original hard case with some original documents and bridge pickup cover..
