Description:
Here for your consideration is a rare Fender Japan "collectors series" model Tele from 1989, the TL67-SPL modeled after Keith Richards "Sonny" 1967 Telecaster. Built in one of the most desirable eras for Fender Japan guitars this has a beautifully tight grained ash body in excellent condition showing only some light surface marks, and a modern style brass bridge which KR seems to prefer. Neck has the era correct slab maple fretboard with heel adjust truss. Headstock shows some light wear along the edge but is otherwise in very good condition. Rear of the neck is in excellent condition. Fretboard shows only one very small spot with some discoloration but is otherwise very clean. Frets show only light wear mainly in the root position - tons of life left. Brass bridge shows some oxidization and wear but is otherwise in great shape. Electronics have been thoroughly cleaned and work perfectly. Featuring a Fender Dragster humbucker in the neck and Tele Vintage in the bridge. Overall very clean for a nearly 40 year old guitar and plays like a dream. We've had a few different Keith Tele's come through the shop and this one might just be the best. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes Fender gig bag.
