A rare 1985 Yamaha EX-1 Explorer style shredder, this is probably one of the very first ones made or one of the first prototypes ahead of production as the serial number is 000005! Although over 40 years old this one remains in very good condition. The body shows some light surface marks throughout and is missing the back plate, but overall is in very good condition. Neck shows some light surface marks as well but is otherwise very clean. Headstock shows some minor dings and two small holes/chips in the finish where it appears someone had screwed the break angle bar all the way down pushing the screws through the back side of the headstock. See photos for details. Otherwise headstock is overall in good condition with no major damage. Fretboard is very clean and remains in great shape for its age with no notable damage or blemishes. Frets show minimal wear with no major divots or issues with dead spots or buzzing, and have plenty of life left in them. Hardware shows signs of age and patina/pitting, but is all fully functional and overall in good condition. Electronics have been thoroughly inspected and work perfectly. Original humbuckers sound great. A rare shredder from Yamaha that plays great! Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes gig bag and trem arm.
