Description:

Something for the collectors; a 1984 Greco Prototype for a model never put into production. In the mid Eighties Greco launched their "Guitar-Device" series designed to compete with western brand's superstrat and shred inspired guitars. This is a prototype build from that series but this model was never put into production. Uses the "JJ" neck on a Jackson inspired Kerry King style shape Flying V body. Features handwritten Kanji prototype factory markings in the neck pocket and neck heel.

Original Kahler tremolo, tuners, electronics and a set of USA Seymour Duncan Humbuckers (SH-1n, SH-6b).

As best we can tell this is a 1 of 1, never put into production.

The body shows some general wear - light surface marks, dings, dents, scratches. And the edge of both horns of the "V"  show some damage (see photos). Otherwise body is in good shape overall. Rear of neck shows some light surface marks and a few very small dings, but they do not affect playability in any way. Headstock shows some surface marks and a very minor ding on the front side between the D and G tuning machines but is otherwise in good shape. Fretboard shows some marks from what appear to be some kind of colored pencil/crayon (?), we've removed as much as we could but a small amount still remains. Hard to even see unless you are looking very close. The inlays some kind of checking/cracks but is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect their structural integrity. Besides that fretboard is overall in good shape. Frets show some light wear but overall are in great shape with no issues and plenty of life left in them. Hardware shows some age and light pitting but is all perfectly functional and overall in great shape. Electronics work great and pickups have been replaced with a brand new set of USA Seymour Duncans, SH-1N in the neck and SH-6B in the bridge. A totally unique and GREAT playing prototype Greco. Possibly 1 of 1 ever made. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes gig bag.

In the mid-1980s, the Japanese brand Greco released several models featuring factory-installed Kahler tremolo systems to compete with Western "Superstrat" brands like Jackson and Charvel. These guitars, often part of the "Device" series, are known for their high build quality and typically featured the Kahler USA Flyer or 2200/2300 series bridges
