1981 Yamaha SG1500 Transparent brown, neck through, burst made in Japan
Maker: Yamaha
Model: SG1500
Condition: Very good
Description:
Here for your consideration is a 1981 Yamaha SG1500 in very good condition! This one comes in a very nice Transparent Brown finish and features push/push coil splitting for humbucker or single coil operation on both the neck and bridge pickup. The body shows quite a bit of dings and finish marks/scratches (mostly along the edges), and some of the notorious "finish clouding" that is quite common with the SG Models. Otherwise there is no major damage and overall in great shape. Previous owner added pick guard. Rear of neck shows a fair amount of very light surface marks and finish clouding but otherwise is in great shape. Nut has been replaced and binding repaired by the nut/headstock (see photo). Headstock shows some light surface marks and some light marks/wear along the edge but is overall clean. Fretboard is in excellent condition and frets show only very light wear with no issues and lots of life left in them. Hardware shows some aging, pitting, and light patina but all works perfectly and overall in good shape. Bridge pickup volume and tone knob are missing the top inserts. Electronics work great and features a great sound set of yamaha humbuckers with coil splitting on push/push tone knobs for lots of versatility. Overall a couple battle scars on this one but it has it where it counts. Plays amazing and sounds great! Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes gig bag.
