1978 Greco SE700 Early Sixties Stratocaster Made in Japan MIJ w/ original hard case
Maker: Greco
Model: SE700
Condition: Very good
Description:
A 1978 Greco SE700 Early Sixties model in very clean condition. Although labeled "early sixties" that's a bit of a misnomer as the specs are a dead on copy of '68/'69 era Strat with the large CBS style headstock but still with the heel adjust, basically the white Hendrix Strat. Body shows some very minor surface marks and dings but is overall in excellent shape. Neck shows a couple very small dings but they cannot be felt when playing and otherwise is in great shape. Neck shows some light wear along the edges but is otherwise very clean. Fretboard is in great shape and frets show minimal wear with no issues with buzzing or dead spots. Hardware shows some signs of age and some pitting/oxidization but is overall in great shape and all works perfectly. Electronics work perfectly and original Maxon Excel P-119 pickups sound great and are on the slightly hotter side of typical vintage style strat pickup (measureing about 7.3k each). A great playing vintage Strat from Greco that would give any Fender a run for its money. Has been fully inspected by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes original hard case, vibrato arm, and bridge cover. See below for a list of specs and info.

The 1978 Greco SE700 "Early Sixties" is a highly revered, premium vintage Stratocaster copy manufactured in Japan by the legendary Fujigen Gakki factory. Positioned as a higher-tier model during the golden era of Japanese guitar building, it is famous for outperforming many of its contemporary late-70s Fender CBS counterparts at a fraction of the price. Despite the "Early Sixties" designation engraved on the headstock to signify its 1960s-style rosewood fretboard construction, it uniquely pairs that look with a large late 60s CBS-style headstock.
