Description:
Here for your consideration is a 2001 Gibson J-50 ADJ vintage reissue Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic in very good condition built in the Bozeman Montana factory!
Seems to be modeled on a 1963/64 spec featuring the double rosette, ceramic saddle and single line Kluson tuners.
In fantastic shape for its age! Body shows some light surface marks, some general age/wear & finish checking in the nitro, a small area of pick wear on the sound hole (see photo), and one minor ding (about 1/2") on the top side (see photo), but otherwise is in excellent condition and has a good amount of nice finish checking. Neck shows one minor ding behind the 2nd fret on the top side, but is otherwise in great shape also showing some nice checking. Headstock shows some light wear along the edge but is otherwise in great shape. Fretboard shows some light wear along the edges but is otherwise in great shape. Frets appear very clean with not much wear at all and no issues, it's possible that it has been re-fretted as they are really clean, but consistent with the amount of wear on the rest of the guitar it is possible they are original. Bridge and saddle are in excellent working condition. Tuning machines show a little age but otherwise work perfectly and are in good condition. It had a Fishman pickup with strap button output jack installed however the pickup was dead so we removed the pickup and left the strap button. Overall a beautiful reissue of a unique Gibson in great condition that sounds incredible, and plays like a dream! Has been full inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes original case. See below for a list of specs.

The Gibson J-50 ADJ (Adjustable Bridge) is a 1960s-era slope-shoulder acoustic (spruce top, mahogany back/sides) featuring a natural finish and a specialized rosewood bridge with a metal-or-rosewood adjustable saddle. Renowned for a warm, punchy midrange often favored by artists like Bob Dylan.
- Body & Finish: Slope-shoulder dreadnought, often with a "natural" top finish (as opposed to the sunburst J-45).
- Bridge: The defining feature is the adjustable bridge, which allowed for quick, easy action changes.
- Tone: Known for a warm, woody, "thumpy" tone.
- Hardware: Large tortoise-colored pickguard, frequently with Kluson deluxe tuners.
