Maker: National
Model: Varsity 66
Condition: Good/Vintage
Description:
Here we have a vintage, all original National Varsity 66 in good condition. Made by Valco in Chicago, these old Nationals are funky and totally unique. This one is in pretty good condition for its age. The body has its fair share of surface marks/scratches but no major damage of any kind. The neck is in overall good shape with no major damage. There is some finish checking as the neck mets the headstock and one minor chip in the finish that we've highlighted in our photos. Headstock is in good shape with no major damage and National logo remains in good condition. Fretboard has one small ding on the 9th fret under the G string but it doesn't affect playability whatsoever. Otherwise fretboard is in good condition. Frets have some wear but no dead spots or buzzing. Tuning machine heads have some discoloration but they function perfectly. Electronics work great with no scratchiness or issues. Pickup sounds really cool. Grab an old 5 watt tube amp and crank it for that unmistakeable vintage blues tone. Or grab a silver tone 1484 and crank it for that Jack White/ Black Keys type tone. This is a killer example of these old sears catalog style guitars and it remains in surprisingly good shape for its age and completely original. Has been fully inspected by our techs and ready for a new home. includes gig bag.
