Description:

A very rare, limited edition early era Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster built for the legendary LA institution Norman's Rare Guitars. Features '54 style V neck shape but with a modern 9.5 radius and matching headstock built by Fender's legendary neck shaper Herbie Gastelum (57 years at Fender). Body is Art Esparza, one of Fender's earliest Masterbuilders. Appears surf green but we believe this started out as a daphne blue but has aged over it's 35 years of life into a very unique surf green. This one is overall in very good condition for a 35 year old instrument. Body shows some various surface marks, scratches, dings, and dents but overall has no major damage and otherwise in good condition. Neck shows some very minor dings but none that can be felt while playing and otherwise is in great shape with a really nice V profile. Headstock shows some light wear and dings along the edge but is otherwise in good shape. Fretboard shows some very light wear along the edges but is otherwise in great shape with no major damage. Frets show some light wear and some minor divots but still have a good amount of life in them and have no issues with dead/high spots or buzzing. Hardware shows some tarnishing, oxidization, and patina, but is all perfectly functional. Electronics work great and features a killer set of USA Fender late 50's style low output pickups that have that unmistakable bell-like Stratocaster clarity even with overdrive or distortion. An incredibly rare and awesome custom shop strat that plays great. Has been fully inspected and set up and ready for a new home. Includes original fender tweed hard case.
