Based on one of Matt’s favorite vintage Sovtek-era\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBig Muff® pedals from 1994, it captures a very different side of the Sovtek® sound, with a\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003echaracter distinctly different from its lower-gain sibling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original pedal stood apart from other versions of the era, with a collection of unusual\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ecomponent values that differed from earlier models. Add decades of component drift and the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eloose tolerances common to the originals, and you get a pedal with a character all its own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRecreating that sound took nearly two years of revisions, experimentation, and careful\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003emeasurement.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe result was the full size Fade Font ’94: higher gain, more aggressive, and full of that\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eunmistakable papery Sovtek-era grit, with a commanding, focused low end that works\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ebeautifully on both guitar and bass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe XTS version of the Fade Font ’94 takes that same voice and packs it into a ridiculously\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003esmall footprint. It gets remarkably close to the full-size version in tone and feel, though a few of\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ethe unique parts used in the Full Size Fade Font ’94 simply could not be carried over into a\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003epackage this small. For the most exact recreation of Matt’s original 1994 pedal, the full-size\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eversion remains the one to beat, however, the XTS Fade Font ‘94 will get you very close to that\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003esame glorious tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDid we follow the route some have taken and reduce the quality and reliability along with the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003esize when creating a micro-pedal?
