Maker: Stomp Under Foot
Model: Dirt Preacher
The Dirt Preacher is a hybrid between silicon and germanium transistors that gives you a full range of fuzz tones that sounds like a mix between a Big Muff™ and a Tonebender™ through your favorite, vintage amp.
With the gain control around 9-10 o'clock you can get an overdriven tone. When turning the gain between 11-1 o'clock you get more of a muff-like fuzz and with the gain all the way up you get a gnarly mix of muff and Tonbender that starts to get into a gnarly, gritty, wooly, sound.
I used four different and specific transistors to get the sound I wanted including a germanium transistor for vintage grittiness in the fuzz and give lead notes a little tube-like sag.
As with all Stomp Under Foot pedals, the Dirt Preacher is made by hand, using only quality, through-hole components.
