So now, I guess you could say the \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e MOSFET Mod offers an original take on our original take on a circuit that’s become very hard to do anything original with…if that makes sense.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eWe have enough confidence in your perception abilities that we’re gonna go ahead and assume you’ve already taken note of the obvious differences between the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eMOSFET Mod and the OG\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e. For one thing, it’s an even smaller small signal shredder. For another, it’s a limited edition because we told you that in its name. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eWe also put the term “MOSFET Mod” in the name, and that’s the part we should probably spend a minute explaining. Like the original, the \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e MOSFET Mod features three clipping modes. Modes 1 and 2 (labeled “L” and “N” respectively) are identical to those found in the good old-fashioned \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e that the hard-working pedal people at EarthQuaker Devices have been making for years, but Mode 3 (labeled “M”) is where this whole “MOSFET Mod” deal comes into play, offering \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ea commanding, tight and focused overdrive that’s rich in harmonics and delivers an overdriven bite in line with the sound of a modern high gain tube amp. \u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAt the end of the day, the \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e Jr MOSFET Mod features the same familiar tone controls as the original \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePlumes\u003c\/span\u003e. It’s still a safe space, no worries here. It’s useful through its entire range. The low end is big and clear, and the high end is bright and cutting without killing the mids.
