Chase Bliss Brothers Analog Gain Stage

Maker: Chase Bliss

Model: Brothers

Condition: New

Description:

It should be known by now that when Chase Bliss designs a pedal, it cuts no corners and crams all it can into the enclosure. The Brothers is no different. For the Brothers, Chase Bliss teamed up with Resonant Electronic, a company lauded for its original dirt boxes that similarly cut no corners.

The Brothers consists of two separate channels, each with its own set of controls, and each with three separate modes including Boost, Drive and Fuzz. A three-way toggle accesses one mode per channel. These two channels can be run independently or together for some decadent analog goodness.

Each channel gets its own Gain and Tone controls, as well as a Master (volume) control and a Mix knob. This Mix control is complimented by a control that lets you stack side A into side B or vice versa, along with the possibility for parallel mixing. This allows you to use one side to dramatically push the other side, using the first effect’s Volume control as a saturation control.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a Chase Bliss pedal without dramatic levels of control, so let’s dig into that, shall we? On the back is the requisite DIPswitch bank, which lets you govern all sorts of parameters, from deciding how each knob is swept with an expression pedal and in which way, through bypass and sweep options.

A MIDI jack accommodates an external Faves controller, sold separately, for instant recollection of banks upon banks of presets. There’s a preset switch on the front of the pedal too, but the world dramatically opens up with the Faves switch.
