The Volume control acts as a master output level control. One improvement of the V4 is that we have added 2x the available headroom to this control if compared to the V3. The Drive control dials in overdrive as you turn clockwise. As this control increases, the treble content is also slightly increased. The Tone control is a basic high-pass filter, and as you turn clockwise, the tone becomes brighter. As you turn this control to the left, it becomes darker. The Gain toggle activates a new boost mode. This mode is overall more powerful, has more low-end content, and when the drive knob is in its upper region, it creates a more high gain tone than ever available in any variation of the Morning Glory. This toggle is indicated by the status LED turning Red and can be remotely activated by way of the “Remote Gain" 1/4" jack located on the upper right side of the pedal. This ability enables the Gain toggle be used in an on-the-fly application for live performance. Set your normal MG tone and instantly switch the Red Remote for a secondary tone with using hardly any space on your board at all. The Bright Cut toggle is now located on the side of the pedal, still easily accessible but out of the way. This switch is great for rigs that lean a little on the bright side or when you are using the MG as a higher gain drive sound. The input jack is located on the lower right side and the output jack is on the left side. The MG runs on standard 9V DC supply only.

Whether you play a Stratocaster or a Les Paul, you will instantly recognize how the Morning Glory is touch sensitive and keeps 100% of your instrument’s feel in place. From "Little Wing-ish" chime to full chord rock & roll, the Morning Glory is hard to beat. If you are one of the thousands who have made the Morning Glory a part of your rig or a first-time interest, the Morning Glory V4 offers all the right features, tones, and ease of use that you are looking for in a primary overdrive pedal.

This pedal requires standard 9V DC Negative power, consumes less than 100mA, and measures 2.2"x4.3"x1.5".

Maker: JHS Effects

Model: Angry Charlie

Condition: New

Description:

The Angry Charlie has become a staple of the JHS line over the years. In the 3, we set out to keep everything that has made it a star in place while adding some tweaks for even greater flexibility and usability. The V3 is a force to be reckoned with in the high gain pedal territory. It convincingly and accurately breathes JCM800 tones with ease. Let's look at the features.

The Angry Charlie has five controls: Volume, Drive, Bass, Mids and Treble. The Volume control acts as a standard master volume control on an amplifier. Simply turn the control to the right and you are louder, turn it to the left and you are quieter. The Drive control decides the amount of overall dirt/overdrive that enters the signal path. Turn it up for more distortion and down for less. New to the V3 are the Bass, Mids, and Treble controls. To faithfully replicate a Marshall amplifier we felt it was time to incorporate a full Marshall-style tone stack. All three of these controls act as a cut and boost, while at noon they are relatively flat. The right 1/4" jack is the input, and the left is the output.

If you are a glutton for high gain overdrive/distortion that has a British flavor full of rich bass response, thick mids, and a balanced high-end response, the Angry Charlie V3 will change your life. The Moonshine V2 is for you. The Moonshine V2 overdrive is a highly unique and massively tweaked version of the most famous overdrive ever created and housed in a little green enclosure. Blues, rock, country, jazz, and even hardcore/metal players will find this is an indispensable tool for shaping and creating unique mid heavy tones for almost any need. The Moonshine V2 is still the core tone of the version one and retains the simple Volume, Tone, and Drive knobs. However on the Moonshine V2 we added a new Clean knob to blend in any amount of clean signal to your tone! The simple 2-position “Proof ” toggle gives you everything from low gain amp-like breakup with powerful colored boost settings to grinding, heavy overdrive that reaches to the very edge of cranked amp distortion. In the down position, you’ll find the highest gain settings, lots of saturation and sustain and the most mid-range goo available. In the up position are the more open and forceful crunchy tones that will make any amp beg for mercy. The up position also adds more overall volume and more headroom to those searching for cleaner applications. The tone control goes down as smooth as Grandpa’s White Lightning, with none of the harsh ice-pick characteristics that many overdrives often have in the brighter settings. Just like the JHS Pedals' SuperBolt pedal, the Moonshine uses an internal 9v to 18v charge pump that allows it to run on normal 9v but converting it internally to 18v for an enormous amount of headroom, added low-end, and more overall punch. We wouldn’t be surprised if this is the most girthy, thick overdrive you have ever plugged into. If you’re a fan of stacking overdrives, you’ll love putting this in front of or behind your favorite drive, booster, or fuzz. The Moonshine delivers on any style amp, easily producing anything from SRV classic Stratocaster/ Fender amp tones with class to huge “wall of rock” The Edge-style force through a Vox. On another note, you might find a few Dumble-esque lead settings that will have you feeling like you saved a cool $100,000 in search of that sacred tone. Last but not least, it kills on bass guitar, the reason it was originally designed. The Pulp N Peel V3 has become a staple on thousands of players' boards all over the world and has gained a reputation for being the compression pedal for players who don't like compression. In version 4 we have stayed true to the things that made the PnP stand out among its competition while adding several new features that expand the circuit’s ability to reach into new territory, new tones and new ways of thinking about a compression pedal. These features include an improved detection circuit for smoother and more sustained tones, more headroom, a built in parallel overdrive-drive circuit, a tone control, and parallel 1/4" and DI outputs. Let's take a look at what makes the PnP V4 stand out in the crowd now more than ever.

Looking at the controls, we have Volume, Compression, Blend, EQ and Dirt. The Volume control is a standard master volume that lets you cut and boost the output signal. One major improvement of the V4 is that we have added even more clean headroom so you can use the PnP as a lead boost or drive a tube amp with ease. The Compression control rolls in compression/sustain as you rotate it clockwise. The Blend control works much like the faders of a mixing console. As you turn the control clockwise, you are blending in compressed tone in parallel to your dry signal. This control allows you to dial in the perfect amount of attack and clarity to your compressed signal so that you never lose the original tone of your guitar and amplifier. The EQ control lets you darken and brighten your affected signal. When set at noon, the control is bypassed. Turning the EQ to the left allows you to darken while moving to the right lets you brighten the tone. The Dirt toggle works in conjunction with the side accessible trim pot and allows you to activate your desired amount of dirt/overdrive into the signal path. This control is a magic bullet for bass players who want to cut through the mix or for electric players who only need compression and dirt as the foundation of their tone. On the side of the PnP you will also notice that the internal bypass buffer is switchable on-the-fly. For true bypass operation turn this off, but for buffered bypass signal to drive your long cable lengths and to restore lost tone, turn this on.

The inputs and outputs are fairly typical. The PnP runs on standard 9V DC power only. The right 1/4" jack is the input, and the left 1/4" jack is the output. The left side also has an XLR/DI output so that you can go directly from the PnP into a mixer or studio interface. This output makes the PnP an active DI channel strip for bass players or acoustic instruments. There is also a ground lift if the DI signal creates a hum.

The PnP design shines as a true and transparent compressor that loves single coils as well as humbuckers. If you have ever thought that compressors rob your high-end and dull your tone, the Pulp N Peel is the compressor that you never knew you needed. The idea behind the Pulp N Peel is to have a compressor pedal that you never want to turn off, that doesn't rob your attack, that has a very low noise floor, and that adds a professional polish to every chord, lead line, and note that blooms out of your guitar.

Juice up your tone with a slice of the unique, easy to use, and powerfully versatile Pulp N Peel V4.

This pedal requires standard 9V DC Negative power, consumes less than 100mA, and measures 2.2"x4.3"x1.5".

Maker: JHS Pedals

Model: Little Black Buffer

Condition: New

Description: This may be the greatest weapon you didn’t know you needed.

For those of us who are a little “pedal happy” there can be some downfall to our tone. When running a pedal board with more than one or two effects, something called “capacitance” happens. This natural problem happens due to the amount of cable or line that your signal has to travel through, not to mention bad switching systems in certain pedals. The result is a very audible amount of high-end loss, weak signal, flabby bass and uncharacteristic pickup behavior in guitars. Another problem is the assumption that all “true bypass” is good. It creates a lush, phasing pulse which delivers a three-dimensional swirling sound. The Depths has been optimized to work well with all types of instrument, pickup types and to play well with dirt. With its “Voice” and “Throb” controls, The Depths can achieve sounds from thin and subtle to warm and deep and everything in between. The “Intensity” and “Rate” will go from a smooth, ultra-slow warble all the way to speedy, sharp bursts allowing you to get more than just the classic vibe sounds. The “Level” will allow you to boost the signal well above unity to make up for any perceived volume loss commonly found in vibe pedals. In addition to all that, The Depths can be powered by 9v for warmer tones or up to 18v for a stiffer tone with more headroom and sparkle.

Controls

Voice- Dials in the overall sound. This one is for experimenters, adventurists and noisemakers. Totally not for purists and/or tone hounds, there are no “natural sounds” that will come from this box. It takes modern DSP and uses it as a tool of future past to create real time pitch shifting using digital oscillators. The sound is much different than most modern day pitch shifting devices. It was imagineered to be wild and out of control and slightly imperfect while still tracking up and down the guitar neck without glitching out. A cold digital beast made to pretend it has feelings. It will do basic polyphonic harmonies from a 4th down through a 3rd up and every atonal pitch in between. You may add in an accompanying octave of the harmony by bringing up the Secondary function control. You can take it way beyond and open up your third eye by bringing in the Magic. The Magic is the heart of the Rainbow Machine. In conjunction with the Tracking control, the Magic creates wild pitch take offs and descents, chaos chorusing, shrieks, pixie trails and wealth of other general mayhem inducing noises. The pitch can be controlled by an external expression pedal for extra fun! The Rainbow Machine can be used on bass, keys, vocals or anything else you can dream up! What we’ve done is made what we consider the best sounding tri-knob replication you can find.

Compared to the modern-day BM, the Tri Pie 70′ has less saturation, a bit less mid-scoop, and more snarl, while at the same time possessing a smoothness that sweetens things in a very musical way. It’s range is more useful, responds well to your guitar’s volume knob, and even gets into the overdrive zone at lower settings.

Here is one thing that sets the Wren and Cuff Tri-Pie 70’ apart from many of the other B-Muff recreations: Rather than chasing down magical part #’s and sexy looking transistors, we’ve blind-tested a plethora of different types and transistor combos to come up with what we believe to be the sweetest mix of high and lower gain transistors that will yield beautifully rich and complex saturation full of color, bloom and sustain. Contrary to popular belief, vintage “NOS” transistors aren’t that hard to find. Anyone that has a few good suppliers and is willing buy in bulk can get most silicon NOS transistors with a little homework. Problem is, the inconsistencies from muff to muff and gain variances between transistors with the same part numbers makes the search for the “right” transistors a bit pointless.

When someone is chasing after a sweet-sounding year/version of a muff they’ve heard or heard-of, they may not know it, but what they’re really chasing after is one of the really good ones within that version. The ones that randomly got the transistors that had the characteristics needed to produce a pedal that had “that sound”. I don’t (excuse my change from “we” to “I”) want to paint an over-exaggerated picture of the inconsistencies inherent to these pedals. Truth is, there was a much greater amount of consistency from pedal to pedal than germanium transistor based Fuzz Faces for example. But silicon transistors (which all the muffs had) were still “new” at the time and not nearly as consistent as they are now. So the inconsistency factor is definitely a valid point. And I’d bet my booty that most of the big names in music at that time sorted through more than a few pedals before finding the one that they liked.

So here’s what we’ve focused on: Finding a great combo of trannies and guaranteeing that each Tri Pie 70’ will be totally consistent and sound the way it should. So what transistors do we use?
We prefer to keep that to ourselves, but we will say that it is a combo of common and slightly uncommon transistors with the characteristics that we feel produce a glorious sounding muffer. Why I mention this is because as you might imagine, my ears have become very accustomed to the nuances and intricacies of these pedals.

I’ve spent many hours digging for some slight difference between a vintage pedal I love and one I’m building for one reason or another to be sure I could truly nail the sound. I’ve had my employees flat out saying, “Sorry man, I just can’t hear a difference”, then giving me the, man, this guy is crazy look. Why I mention this is to say that after all the muff type pedals built under my belt, The Tall Font Russian was the toughest pedal to nail. Why did I choose the Tall Font S****K version to recreate? After a conversation via email with an acquaintance who plays in a very successful band this quest began. In his words, after being asked about his affection for these pedals he said: “Yet to find anything close. And (after) hearing a lot of players, rarely do I like their distorted/fuzz sounds. I really think there is a reason the s****ks are so collectable. I prefer the first series green ones with the screws on the side. The series after this had them on the top. I don’t like the civil wars or any others besides the green ones. In a pinch, I’ll use a screws on the top one, but it has to be green.”

I was curious why he didn’t follow the standard, civil war muffs are the best Russian muffs belief. After some investigation I found that they’re very, very, similar in tone, parts, and values. Very close. But to me, the highs are more present and clear in the Tall Fonts resulting in an openness in the highs unique to this pedal. They’re generally not as dark sounding, which gives them a slight gritty edge not found in the war muffs. Some dislike this trait but to me there is a rudeness to them that sets the TF’s apart from the C-War.

As usual with our muff-type pedals, I found that transistor selection was very important. After removing the transistors from vintage units then testing the gains I found some inconsistencies between vintage units. After some obsessive listening tests I went with one particularly sweet sounding pedal and matched the gains as closely as possible using a mix of trannies. I also was surprised to find an important biasing resistor and a capacitor that were a much different value than stated on the components and schematic. Discovering this helped to find that sound I was looking for!

One of my favorite traits is a “boxy” quality to the sound that was the toughest thing to reproduce. Wish I had a better way to describe it, but “boxy” is what it is to my ears.

It almost sounded right, but I couldn’t get a certain growl I heard on the vintage pedal and the boxy thing still wasn’t quite right..Finally, I tested the pots and found the actual vs. stated pot values were over 30% “off” in some cases. IMO this inconsistancy is partly responsible for one unit sounding particularly sweet and another sounding so, so. In other words, those absolutely crappy pots created a happy accident. After custom tweaking those pots, I realized that this was one of the things responsible for keeping the low-mid range from getting to mucky and is also a factor in the more over-drive type quality these Russians can produce. I found the growl! The kooky values found can’t be purchased as such so we have to mod each pedal’s pots ourselves to get the desired values.
As far as I know, we’re the only company that goes as far as to modify the pots for a S****k clone.

This boxy-growl also helps make them particularly great on bass, and fantastic for raunchy, less friendly guitar tones ala The Black Keys, White Stripes, Mars Volta, and many others seeking a nasty F-You snarl (not saying the afore mentioned bands use these exact pedals, just using their tones as a reference). With many other desirable muffers (and our Tri Pie 70’) the goal is warm, smooth and buttery, but the TFR has a different goal in mind. There is a growl and raunchy yet truly musical sound produced by these ugly green beasts. The lows have an overdrivey compression that keeps things tight, and the highs have a rich upper-harmonic thing going on that’ll make one understand the affection some have for this pedal. The mids have the standard muff-scoop but it is not as pronounced as some of the other generations. Add to that a less gainy/fuzzy tone overall and you end up with a unique muff with a character all its own. Good stuff.

Sadly, my quest for this tone resulted in a couple of butchered vintage pedals, but the end result was worth it.

The bummer about the vintage Tall Fonts? Cheap, cheap, cheap plastic jacks mounted to the circuit-board that beg to be given a hard knock resulting in a cracked circuit board. Equally cheap pots (knobs you turn) that feel flimsy, break easily, and barely hold the knobs in place making it rare to find one with all three original knobs. Non-true bypass tone-suck, no power supply jack, huge footprint, and heavy as hell round off the list of negatives the originals carried.

In short, they could be a big pain in the ass.
Our TFR features:

• True hard-wire mechanical bypass
• Standard “Boss-style” 9VDC (-) tip power supply jack or 9V batt operated
• Small foot-print
• The best jacks available mounted off the circuit board
• Alpha pots
• 3PDT foot-switch for real true-bypass operation
• Genuine USA Davies “Daka-ware” knobs
• Expert clean, tight, wiring that makes the insides just as beautiful as the outside
• Incredible attention to detail

Maker: Stomp Under Foot

Model: Violet Menace

Condition: New

Description: The Violet Menace is based on a Violet version of the Ram's Head and features an added mids control allowing you more options for shaping and creating your sound.

While adding this modification to the circuit I made sure the original punch and the smooth, singing tone on leads remained true to the circuit.

The added mids goes from a really scooped tone all the way up to a slight mid hump to help cut in a live situation.

Maker: Union Tube & First by taking a low gain amp and really overdriving the first tube you can attain nice gain structure and have your amp breaking up at 1 or 2 instead of the usual 6-7 (this is like the Sweeten but with more gain). A hybrid of digital and analog circuitry with a slightly extended delay time allows it to really stand out and shimmer. The heart of the Sea Machine is a short digital delay line, which features controls for Animation, Dimension and Depth. The Animation allows control over the delay time, Dimension adjusts the amount of spatial regeneration and the Depth adjust the mix of the modulated wet signal against the dry analog signal. The LFO section of the Sea Machine is comprised of Rate, Intensity and Shape. The Rate adjusts the speed of the oscillator, the Intensity adjusts how much the LFO modulates the delayed signal and the Shape transforms the wave from a soft triangle to a hard square wave. We also included a small LED, which shows the speed and shape of the LFO, even in bypass. With this mix of standard and unique controls, everything from subtle warble, classic Leslie, seasick pitch bends to strangled alien sounds, stunted arpeggiations and many more far out sounds are on tap. The Sea Machine also was designed to work well following fuzz, distortion or overdrive without getting muddy, reducing volume or breaking up. When engaged, the transparent buffer leaves the all-analog dry signal unaltered and crystal clear. The Sea Machine is true bypass and made by human hands with the highest quality parts in shimmering Akron, Ohio.

Controls

Rate: Sets the speed of the LFO. The Hummingbird is a choppy, sawtooth tremolo modeled on the vintage “repeat percussion” unit and similar to those found in old Valco and Vox amplifiers. It is capable of producing everything from classic “50’s style” shimmering tremolo to a synthy, delay-like chop that turns your signal into a burst of short pings and on through to near ring modulation speeds. Simply choosing between modes 1 (slow), 2 (mid-tempo) or 3 (fast) and adjusting the rate and depth controls will unlock a whole new world of amplitude modulation at your feet. The Rate is also expression pedal accessible to allow instant changes on the fly. Using an expression pedal opens up the possibility of true
random amplitude modulation! In addition to the modulation, the Hummingbird has plenty of clean gain on-tap allowing you to either boost or cut the signal using the level control. If the Depth is turned to zero, the Hummingbird will become a JFET clean boost! Any of you who’ve heard the sound of the Lo-Fi Loop Junky will understand this pedal immediately... its purpose is to imitate that sound in real time. Joel Korte, the extraordinary engineer behind this new device, was able to create a combination of THAT chip compression, Belling bucket- brigades, and ultra low-current National Semiconductor op-amp filters to exquisitely copy the texture and feel of the original Lo-Fi into this new and extraordinary box, adding some new sounds that have never been heard before.

To get the basic real-time Lo-Fi sound, turn the middle knob all the way to the right and set the waveform switch to triangle. By adjusting the speed and depth it’s pretty easy to achieve a very similar texture to the original Lo-Fi Loop Junky. Lower the tone knob if you wish to darken the tone.

Next, try turning down the middle knob all the way toward the “comp” side. With this setting you’ll enjoy a remark-
ably spanky bright and clear compression. It lasts forever but has dynamics like there’s no tomorrow. As you turn
the middle knob back toward the Lo-Fi side, you’ll hear the chorus blend start to happen. The sparkly clear compressed signal will mix with the smashed, lo-fidelity warbled signal and become a luscious emulsification that can be blended to the most perfect depth. Unlike other choruses where

the only depth control you have is the depth of the sweep oscillator, this unit lets you set exactly how much of the two signals are present in the mix... more clear compression
if you want the sound to be basically clean with a hint of chorus, blended 1-to-1 for pure chorusing sound, or mostly vibrato with a hint of chorus by turning the knob mostly to the right. The chorus sound sounds most traditional with either the sine or triangle setting. They are subtly but notice- ably different.

Now try switching the waveform to square and set the middle knob mostly to the compression side (to the left). You can blend in just enough of the square-wave modulated Lo-Fi sound to make it really eerie. For the spookiest sound, set the speed control to the tempo of your performance and the depth all the way up, adjusting the mix for just enough modu- lation. I really love this setting... it’s so unusual and fun.

We had a producer come through our booth at the NAMM show when we were demonstrating the Instant Lo-Fi in 2011, and we turned it off to show how much sustain the compressor had when it was engaged. The JHS Pedals Unicorn is our version of this heralded effect, continuing the inspiring modulation/phasing/rotary sounds that never fail to push musical boundaries. And just like the originals, we included a toggle for choosing between a Uni-Vibe* effect and a traditional vibrato setting. What sets Unicorn apart from all other vibe-style circuits is that it is the first-ever fully analog, photocell-based vibe with tap tempo as well as ratio, external tap control, and external rate control via expression pedal (optional). And the Unicorn does it all with only four knobs and a mini-toggle switch. In a day and age when everything has been seen and done, we bring you the first-ever, 100% analog vibe photocell modulator with onboard tap tempo. This unit has the ability to chop up any signal you send into or out of it. Unlike most other tremolos, it can cut down your high gain signal to silence. It can also sound gorgeous- ly transparent like a traditional tremolo. It does other fun stuff like increase or decrease tempo, duty cycle (amount of time the trem is ON in a given cycle), or both simultaneously on the fly. It also has tap tempo and a slew of advanced features (attack, release, and depth controls). Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it has a famed ZVEX “Machine” circuit built right into the box.

OPERATIONS:

Plug your guitar into the input jack and your amp into the output jack (or you might mix it with other pedals). It can be anywhere in the chain, but if you are using it in “Machine” mode you might want to put it before other dirt boxes to hear it cut through those effects. Building on the Lightspeed platform, we have developed what we believe to be the best overdrive on the market. The Lightspeed was built with the specific purpose of being a light to mild overdrive. The Southland is the next logical step for the Lightspeed platform—more gain, a focused midrange (not that annoying “hump”), and a bit of presence on top of the signal, to help cut through the mix. This pedal, like the Lightspeed, is touch sensitive, responds to pick attack, and has dynamics that just won’t stop…On top of that, we’ve selected a chip to drive the Southland that takes it to the next level.

Maker: Death by Audio

Model: Interstellar Overdriver

Condition: New

Description: Throw away your Tube Screamer. VCA compressors give you precise control. Therefore they are directly suited to bass guitars. The Keeley Bassist Compressor is both musical and very transparent. Where our older compressors were based on the CA3080 or the LM13700 and are perfect for single coil guitars, the new Keeley Bassist Compressor has no problems with active pre-amps and line level input signals! Not only can the Keeley Bassist handle astonishingly large signals, it has an incredible bandwidth of over 20 KHz and incredibly low noise. No detail in your bass guitar’s tone will be lost. The Keeley Bassist will be a sound investment in your tone, you now have rack-mount quality at your feet.

Compression and Threshold

When bass players use the Keeley Bassist Compressor they will be greeted with a sound that is more easily amplified and heard. Using the effect as a limiting amplifier saves your speakers from clipping and distortion. Set the Threshold to look for peaks in your signal and limit distortion from your amplifier or damage to your speakers. Simply watch the Threshold Indicator light to see what type of playing you want to limit, it’s that easy! Next set the Compression Ratio Control to determine how much squash you want when the signal is above Threshold. Set Compression all of the way down for no (1:1) compression and use the Gain control as a boost! Set Compression all of the way up for an above-Threshold hard-knee limiter.

A typical soft compressor setting would be 2:1 above threshold. A good starting ratio for the Compression control may be 4:1 as it generally sounds good with bass guitar. A ratio of 5:1 or 6:1 will sound great for slap or funk-style playing. For synth-bass try 10:1 Compression.

Attack and Release

There is a certain figure that just sounds good as far as compression goes; and that’s 125 dB/second. With feed forward compressors that use this type of true-RMS detector you use a single time constant parameter. The timing capacitor gives you attack and release times that are adaptive to your playing level or the signal input to the compressor. Bottom line: Attack and Release times vary on program content. Attack times are generally speaking, about 100 times faster than release times.

Attack Time: typically 15ms for 10dB, 5ms for 20dB, 3ms for 30dB

Release Time: typically 8ms for 1dB, 40ms for 5dB, 80ms for 10dB, 160ms for 20dB, 240ms for 30dB

Specs:

Voltage Input: 9.6V

Current Draw: 15mA

Input Impedance 1 Meg ohm

Output Impedance: 100 ohm

Output Voltage Gain: +30dB Boost

Bandwidth > 20kHz

Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.1%

Noise: -95dBV

Threshold Indicator: Dual LED

Maker: Keeley Electronics

Model: DynaTrem Dynamic Tremolo

Condition: New

Description:

The DynaTrem Dynamic Tremolo by Keeley Engineering is an all new type of tremolo that is dynamic and responsive to your playing. Your playing controls the Rate and Depth. The harder you play, the more it responds. Play softly and it relaxes. Set the sensitivity with Rate or Depth controls and you have an unparalleled ability to be expressive with your guitar and tremolo.

Tone Trio – Three Modes

Dynamic Rate – Your playing strength controls the Rate. The harder you play, the faster it modulates!

Keeley Magnetic Echo – The Mag-Echo pedal simulates tube tape echo sounds by using the delay circuit and a little bit of modulation. Tape echos have long been regarded as a warm and very guitar friendly form of delay. The Mag-Echo achieves similar results by using a touch of Lo-Fi delay, a slightly filtered echo response to keep things warm, and some modulation. Modulation, or “Wow and Flutter” in the tape world is a slight pitch shift or wavering that occurs as the tape is pulled across the heads. The modulation we use is similar to what we use in our Seafoam Chorus, a slight wavering of pitch on the trails of the repeats. With a simple set of controls for the delay – Time, Regen, and Level and with the “Wow and Flutter” controls – Depth and Rate you can create some very vintage or rather unique tones.

ECHO CONTROLS

Delay Time – This Time control roughly sets the length between your repeats between 40ms and 600ms. This range is well suited for classic, vintage delay sounds that are great for slap-back or medium length delay times.

Regen – This control sets the number of repeats. You can set this for a single slap back echo or turn it up for a runaway, self-oscillating or self-regenerating echoes. (Now go back and twist the Time control for some crazy sounds!)

Delay Level – The Level control is your mix, how loud you want to hear the echoes.

WOW AND FLUTTER CONTROLS

Depth – Turn this control to achieve deeper and deeper chorusing and pitch shifting on your echoes. As you raise the control the Depth and Rate LED will start to glow giving you a visual indication as to the amount of modulation you are applying to the repeats.

Rate – This is your Flutter control. It’s another way to control how poorly your tape echo is performing! Not that any tape deck was every in this bad of condition, but it sure sounds good to have a little pitch modulation on your echo! Using these controls gives you a nice way to create unique and very musical delays.

Whether you’re into Rockabilly slap-back echoes, experimental sounds, or just want a great classic rock sounding echo, the Magnetic Echo will sound great in your rig.

Keeley Electronics started to develop and produce this delay way back in 2005. But as things happened, we worked on other projects, always keeping an eye on the growing delay and echo market. We sure you will be very happy with the tone of this echo/delay/modulation effect.

It’s pretty clear from this unbiased shoot-out that the Magnetic Echo wins. The delays sound more like the original and not as filtered and cut off. The modulation is more sophisticated.

<iframe width="560" Envelope filters or auto-wahs as they are often called, sound and react best when they are opto-coupler based. The opto-couplers used in the Neutrino are particularly smooth, giving you an amazing vowel-like tone. The Keeley Neutrino gives you 3 filter ranges, 2 directions, 2 ranges for the frequency center and a Peak control. Keeley has engineered a power supply voltage-doubler so you maintain the highest headroom for your tone. An incredibly tough build means it will last for many decades to come. This is one of the most famous uses of plugging a guitar straight into a mixing console and creating the now referred to as “Direct-In Distortion". That tone is one of the most recognizable and unique guitar tones of the last 60 years and was one of the inspirations for the JHS Colour Box that we released in May of 2014. We sought to recreate that same compressed bite and fuzz that you get when plugging directly into a British style preamp but in a compact pedal. What we came up with was something even more than we imagined, and the Colour Box has become a staple among many producers, guitar players, and multi-instrumentalists world wide. Many players over the last few years have expressed their interest in a unit that is like the Colourbox but more streamlined for the one basic application of a dirt box. No XLR function, no 3 band EQ… Just the dirt in an easy to use format for guitarists… So we decided to pull the Crayon out of the Colour Box.

The controls are Master, Pre, Tilt, and Hi Pass. “Master" is your classic volume control that controls the overall output. “Pre" works as a drive or fuzz control like turning up the pre-volume on a preamp to send it in to overdrive. As you reach 75% and above, the fuzz will begin to gate out as you pick the strings harder when playing, it is very responsive to your input signal and touch. The “Tilt" acts as an active tone control that is flat when the knob is at 50%. When turned to the left, the Tilt control boosts bass and simultaneously cuts treble. When turned to the right, it boosts treble and cuts bass. This allows for some very unique and usable adjustments to the overall feel of the Crayon. The “Hi-Pass” toggle switch lets you activate from two different frequencies located on the side of the pedal, 200Hz and 750Hz. These settings let only the high band frequencies above them pass, and this allows for some amazing tone shaping possibilities.

The Crayon excels at Direct-In fuzz tones, but it truly covers more ground than you would first imagine. From subtle tube-like overdrive to classic rock distortion and all the way to spitting fuzz, the Crayon is much more than a one-trick pony. Most of these were lower powered amps with a great sounding natural tube breakup and many models also featured a unique sounding tube driven tremolo. It had a hypnotic throb and was also capable of hard, choppy tremolo. Combined with the breakup overdriven characteristics of the amplifier, it created a percussive, rhythmic pulse that is very inspiring to play. The Catalinbread Valcoder was designed to recreate the tube tremolo as well as the amplifier breakup of these vintage amplifiers. Separate input and output controls allow you to get anything from a clean tremolo sound all the way up to a gritty tube like breakup driving the tremolo circuit.

The Valcoder features an all discrete analog LFO circuit inspired by 60’s Valco tube tremolo. With the depth and rate knobs set lower, the result is a smooth, bubbling modulation that is especially seductive when playing complex chords in the neck position. Crank the DEPTH and RATE knobs for haunting pulses to hard rhythmic chop that adds tension and attitude particularly to distorted passages.

The Valcoder has a dynamic and responsive audio path (JFET based) that adds a bit of vintage tube amp style grit and slight compression to your sound. Increasing the INPUT knob pushes the front side of the circuit harder adding grit and a bit of compression. You can set the OUTPUT knob to adjust for unity or boosted signal.

The Valcoder can also function as a great edge-of-breakup booster. With the DEPTH knob all the way down, and the INPUT & OUTPUT knobs turned all the way up, you will get a warm, gritty 10dB boost. This can be used as an always-on element to fill out your sound or can be used when you need it to help leads punch through the mix.

Maker: Keeley Electronics

Model: Vibe-O-Verb Lost Reverb

Condition: New

Description:

This is a reverberation machine…. Lost reverbs that never were.

The atmospheres are Vibey, have Vibratoneness, and are Phasery….

This three mode reverb lets you hear what some of the most classic effects sound like on just the reverb.
